Allow Pop-up Blocker in Google Chrome for MagTek Card Readers

Issue/Question

Unable to use Magtek card reader to scan a credit card.  The scanner does not work and the pop-up window in the web browser does not appear.

Environment

  • Windows
  • Google Chrome

Resolution

  • Open Chrome.

  • Open the Chrome menu using the ellipsis (3 vertical dots) to the far right of the toolbar.
  • Choose the Settings menu

  • Select Privacy and Security on the right side of the page.
  • Select Site Settings.

  • Scroll down to the Content header, and select Pop-ups and Redirects.

  • Scroll down to Customized Behaviors.
  • Select Add under Allowed to Send Pop-ups and Redirects.

  • Type in https://acipayonline.com and select Add.

  • You can close the settings now and the browser window.  Reopen a new browser window and try the card reader again.
